Sports games, newscasts temporarily halted during California earthquake
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake rumbled through a large portion of Southern California late Friday night, sending noticeable tremors as far away as Las Vegas and New Mexico.
Videos captured during the shaking show the earthquake disrupting sports games and live newscasts.
Local CBS affiliate KCAL was in the middle of a live broadcast when the earthquake hit, prompting the anchors to abruptly pause the show and take cover.

The Friday night quake, which struck 11 miles northeast of Ridgecrest, marks the largest in Southern California in at least 20 years. It came one day after a 6.4 magnitude quake shook the same area of Southern California.
The earthquake cracked buildings and foundations, destroying roads and causing fires to break out. It was followed by several aftershocks — some that surpassed 5.0 magnitude.
