Coroner says California festival gunman killed himself

The gunman who fatally shot three people Sunday at a Northern California garlic festival reportedly killed himself, according to the Santa Clara County coroner’s office.

Despite earlier reports that 19-year-old Santino William Legan was killed by three officers who responded to the Gilroy, Calif., shooting, the coroner’s office said his cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, The Associated Press reports.

Legan opened fire on the Gilroy Garlic Festival, killing three — including a 6-year-old and a 13-year-old — and injuring more than a dozen others.{mosads}

Police have arrested multiple people who have since made online threats regarding the Gilroy shooting.

Jose Pinon, 40, was arrested after he posted on Facebook this week that his “goal is to kill 500, not three.”

A 22-year-old man was also arrested after posting on Facebook that he participated in the shooting, but police didn’t charge him because they didn’t think he had “criminal intent,” the AP reports.

Investigators earlier this week found evidence indicating an intent to carry out a large-scale attack as well as white supremacist literature in Legan’s home in Walker Lake, Nev.
