Multiple funeral homes offer free services to victims of mass shooting at Walmart in El Paso
Multiple funeral homes offered to provide free services to the families of victims killed in the shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, on Saturday that left at least 20 people dead.
According to KFOX14, four funeral homes in El Paso have come out so far to offer services free of charge to the victim’s families: the Perches Funeral Homes, the San Jose Funeral Home, Mt. Carmel Funeral Home and the Sunset Funeral Homes.
{mosads}Salvador Perches, the owner of the Perches Funeral Homes, called the Saturday shooting “one of the most tragic events in El Paso’s history” in a statement seen by the local station.
“My heart and prayers go out to the families who lost a loved one, as well as to the survivors and to our entire community who is mourning at this time,” he continued. “We must unite as a community to help those directly impacted by this tragedy.”
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said at a press conference that at least 20 people have been confirmed killed and 26 more were injured in the shooting that took place at a local Walmart earlier on Saturday.
Police said that one person has been taken into custody. Multiple reports have identified the suspect to be a 21-year-old man.
