California wildfire burns 1,400 acres in a day
A wildfire in California that began Wednesday afternoon burned 1,400 acres in less than a day, according to authorities.
The Tenaja fire in Southern California was only 7 percent contained as of Thursday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Riverside County Fire Department.

{mosads}The fire prompted evacuation orders, and Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann told Time that 415 homes and 1,200 residents had been evacuated, although the fire had not impacted any homes.
The magazine also reported that 509 firefighters were combating the blaze, with officials posting photos on social media.

California Sen. Kamala Harris (D), who is running for president, urged her constituents to “heed all evacuation orders from local officials.”
