NYPD investigating jewelry thefts at Trump Tower: report
The New York Police Department is investigating reports of jewelry thefts worth roughly $350,000 from residents living in Trump Tower in Manhattan.
CBS News reports the jewelry was allegedly stolen from two different apartments in the building bearing President Trump’s name.
{mosads}One resident told police she was missing a $117,000 Graff diamond bracelet, while another woman said she found out she was missing $236,000 worth of jewelry earlier this month.
The $236,000 worth of jewelry was made up of a Harry Winston diamond bracelet, a ring, necklace and bracelet, as well as a pair of diamond and emerald earrings. The items reportedly disappeared between June 21 and Sept. 9.
The second alleged theft took place sometime between Sept. 4 and Sept. 10. There were reportedly no signs of a break-in at either apartment in Trump Tower. It is not yet clear if the same thief or thieves carried out both thefts.
Trump stayed at his penthouse in Trump Tower on Sunday night, as he is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly this week.
