Brooklyn man arrested, accused of encouraging NYC attacks in support of ISIS

A man was arrested Wednesday in Brooklyn, N.Y., and accused of trying to help ISIS.

Zachary Clark, 40, of Brooklyn, has been charged with attempting to provide support to a foreign terrorist organization and distributing information relating to explosive devices, each of which carry a 20-year maximum sentencing, according to a statement from the Justice Department. 

Clark is accused of disseminating propaganda and other information in support of terror acts by calling on others to perform suicide bombings and other violent acts. 

A criminal complaint said that he called for “lone wolf” attacks and has posted instructions on how to carry out such attacks. In one pro-ISIS channel, Clark allegedly posted a map of New York’s subway system followed by instructions called “Make a bomb in the kitchen of your Mom.”

He is also accused of pledging allegiance to the terror group. 

“Today’s arrest in Brooklyn is a reminder that New York City remains a top terrorism target in the United States,” said New York Police Department Commissioner James P. O’Neill said in the Justice Department statement.
