Obama handles smoking question better than Josh Lyman
Obama’s careful answer today about his smoking habit was a true life-imitates-art moment.
Having just signed legislation to grant the FDA regulatory authority over tobacco products, Obama was faced with the delicate question of whether his personal actions matched his policy views.
It was a close parallel to this West Wing scene, where aide Josh Lyman, is, well, not as cool and collected as Obama when addressing President Bartlet’s fondness for cigarettes. The relevant scene starts at 2:40, but the whole clip is worth a watch.
