Sessions: Sotomayor testimony has been ‘muddled’

Senate Judiciary ranking member Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) does not appear to be happy with the way the confirmation hearings are going.

At a press conference during the break just now, Sessions was noticeably peeved and said Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor hasn’t been clear enough.

Sotomayor’s testimony, he said, has been “muddled.”

“I don’t think her testimony is close to the clarity” of Justice Samuel Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts’ was during their confirmation hearings, he added.

“I am frankly a bit disappointed in the lack of clarity in her answers,” Sessions said.

Sotomayor, he added, “is backtracking on issue after issue.”
