Half-brother of Robert Fuller killed by police amid hanging death investigation

The half-brother of Robert Fuller, a 24-year-old black man who died earlier this month after being hung from a tree in Palmdale, Calif., was shot and killed by police in Rosamond, Calif., after he allegedly fired on them.

Terron Jammal Boone, Fuller’s half-brother, was killed Wednesday after police with the Los Angeles sheriff’s department reportedly returned fire, according to The Associated Press.

Authorities had been searching for a suspect accused of kidnapping, spousal assault and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the AP.

When they attempted to stop the suspect’s car, a man opened the door and began firing, police told the AP.

Police reportedly returned fire, killing Boone and injuring a woman that was also riding in his car. A child was also reportedly inside the vehicle but was not injured.

The agency reported the woman found in Boone’s vehicle was not the person who made the spousal assault accusations.

The incident comes a week after Fuller was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale. His death was initially ruled a suicide but Los Angeles County officials are conducting further investigation amid calls from the public and his family.

Pressed for comment by the AP on Wednesday, Jamon Hicks, an attorney representing Fuller’s family, said, “At this time, until we receive all of the information, the family and their legal team doesn’t have any further comment on this incident.”

“The family respectfully asks that their privacy be respected,” he added.
