Obamas heading to Martha’s Vineyard in August
The First Family will join the ranks of Washingtonians who abandon the city during its sweltering August heat, and vacation in Martha’s Vineyard next month.
According to various reports, the Obamas have decided to vacation in the Massachusetts getaway this summer. The Clinton family had frequented the town during the 1990s, and Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and his family maintain a compound in the area.
President George W. Bush had often spent his summers at his Crawford, Texas compound, while his father often vacationed at the family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine.
