McConnell: Bunning in ‘hall of fame of life’

Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) may have taken some parting shots at his Senate colleagues when he announced he would not run for re-election, but Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has nothing but warm words for his fellow Kentuckian.

When asked today for his comments on Bunning’s announcement, McConnell drew an interesting analogy between Bunning’s baseball career and his lifetime accomplishments.

“Well, Senator Bunning announced he was not going run for reelection today, and we took an opportunity at lunch to thank him for his great success not only as a hall of famer in baseball but a hall of famer in life,” McConnell said.

Wow–the “Life Hall of Fame.” That would be quite a tourist destination.
