North Dakota senator’s state office vandalized by man with an ax
Sen. John Hoeven’s (R-N.D.) office in Fargo, N.D., was vandalized by a man with an ax.
Video of the vandalism posted on Facebook by the Fargo Police Department shows a masked man walking up a set of stairs to a door carrying an ax, according to the Grand Forks Herald.
Once he reaches the door, the man smashes the window next to it with the ax and walks away.
Alex Finken, a spokesperson for Hoeven, told The Hill that staff discovered the vandalism on Monday morning.
“We reported it and appreciate the dedicated work of our law enforcement,” Finken said.
The police department said on Tuesday that it had identified a suspect, and was sending a report to the Cass County States Attorney, NBC News reported.
The suspect, identified in court documents as Thomas Alexander Sparks, was charged with criminal mischief on Thursday in connection with the incident.
