Shooting reported near a Georgia university
Police are looking for a suspect following a shooting that happened near a Georgia university on Saturday.
Kennesaw State University sent out an alert around 3 p.m., EDT on Saturday alerting students and staff that there had been a shooting close to campus at a private golf course, Pinetree Country Club.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the university’s men’s and women’s golf teams use the private golf course.
The university identified the suspect as a Hispanic male and over six feet tall, with a “white T-shirt, work pants, and possibly a hat.”
The university had said the suspect was considered “armed and dangerous.”
Just before 5 p.m., the school notified everyone that normal activities could resume, saying in a tweet “No credible threat to campus is indicated at this time.”
Cobb County Police agency spokeswoman Officer Shenise Barner told the Journal-Constitution that law enforcement was investigating the situation.
No additional information about the incident or whether the suspect had been apprehended was provided.
