Kennedy family to reach Capitol by 4 p.m.
The casket of late-Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) should reach Andrews Air Force base in Maryland by 3 p.m., Kennedy’s office told reporters. They expect the motorcade to depart for the Capitol, where a brief prayer will take place, about an hour later.
Police also told The Washington Post that onlookers could line up on Constitution Avenue or the Memorial Bridge to observe Kennedy’s motorcade as it proceeds to Arlington National Cemetery, where a private burial service should begin by about 5:30 p.m.
