Former Air Force contractor sentenced for taking thousands of pages of classified information

A former Air Force contractor was sentenced to prison for taking thousands of pages of classified information from an Air Force Base, the Justice Department announced Tuesday.

Izaak Vincent Kemp was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for taking more than 2,500 classified documents to his home in Fairborn, Ohio.

The 36-year-old worked as a contractor from July 2016 to May 2019 at the Air Force Research Laboratory before going to work as a contractor at the U.S. Air Force National Air and Space Intelligence Center.

Kemp had top security clearance at both facilities, located on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and had training on how to handle classified documents.

Law enforcement obtained a search warrant and found Kemp had 112 documents with more than 2,500 pages on May 25, 2019.

Kemp was charged in January and pleaded guilty in federal court on Feb. 25.
