A shooting at a California council member’s home on Saturday left one person dead and three others injured.
Gilroy Police Department said the shooting occurred at city council member Rebeca Armendariz’s home, NBC News reported.
The identities of those killed and injured were not revealed. Two of the latter sustained “life-threatening injuries,” according to NBC News.
The shooting happened at 1 a.m. when officers responded to a large party that was happening outdoors at the home.
Gilroy Mayor Marie Blankley said Armendariz was not injured in the shooting, according to NBC News.
The gunshots are believed to have followed an altercation, the nature of which remains unclear.
The Hill has reached out to the police department and Armendariz for comment.
