House GOP adopts new rules on transparency

Under the amendment adopted via voice vote at the conference meeting, it will be more difficult to create programs and take votes on commemorative bills.

House GOP Conference rules and business adopted during closed-door Steering Committee meetings also will now be posted online in a bid to increase transparency.

The conference left in place current term limits for committee chairmen. Republicans will continue to operate under the six-year term limit for GOP members who serve in the top spot of a committee.
