Poll: Macker says he’s tied with Deeds

Terry McAuliffe’s camp just emailed supporters on Tuesday touting an overnight poll that shows him tied with Creigh Deeds as they headed into Primary Day.

It is worth noting that these numbers should be taken with a very large grain of salt because, by our calculations, the poll has a plus or minus 6.9 percent margin of error.

The poll, based on 200 interviews Monday night, found that McAuliffe and Deeds are tied at 33 percent. Brian Moran came in third with 21 percent.

The numbers show that McAuliffe can win on Tuesday, wrote Mo Elleithee, McAuliffe’s campaign strategist.

“We’ve got the momentum,” he said.
