Gingrich nods to Palin at dinner

Newt Gingrich began his remarks at Monday’s Senate House Dinner with a thanks for House and Senate leaders and a nod to the would-be keynote speaker, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R).

“I also want to thank Gov. Palin for being apart of this,” Gingrich said, adding that, had she and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) won the presidential election, “this country would have been amazingly better off.”

His nod was just one of two so far, after National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) brief thanks. National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) did not mention her.
