DCCC outraises NRCC, paying down debt fast

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) outraised the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) in April and is coming close to equal financial footing with the Republicans.

In April, the DCCC raised $3 million, while the NRCC raised $2.2 million, according to numbers provided by the committees.

The DCCC, which began the cycle with more than $16 million in debt, compared to $6.5 million for the NRCC, has now paid more than half of that debt off.

The DCCC is now down to $7.3 million in debt, while the NRCC has only reduced its debt by $1.5 million, to $5 million.

The DCCC also retains more cash on hand, $4 million to $3.7 million.
