VIDEO: Dems hit Burr over bank comments

National Democrats are hoping to hang comments about instructing his family to withdrawal all of their money from the bank as the banking crisis set in around Sen. Richard Burr’s (R-N.C.) neck as he heads toward reelection next year.

The latest is a web ad produced by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

“When the banking crisis hit, Senator Burr reassured the public saying the systems and protections were working,” the ad’s narrator says. “That’s what he was telling the people of North Carolina. In private, Burr panicked and told his wife to go to the ATM and take out as much of their money as she could.”

Check out the ad below. The ad, it’s worth noting, comes on the heels of former Obama fundraiser Kenneth Lewis told North Carolina Democrats over the weekend that he plans to run against Burr next year. Democrats are still waiting to to see if state Attorney General Roy Cooper (D) will run.
