Murphy and Tedisco lawyer up
The two candidates in the razor-thin special election in New York have each hired a veteran of political litigation.
The New York Times reported Thursday morning that Democrat Scott Murphy has hired Henry Berger and Republican Jim Tedisco has hired John Ciampoli.
The two have faced off in court cases over a pair of state Senate races in recent years and could be headed for a lengthy battle in the Murphy-Tedisco race, which is currently separated by 25 votes out of more than 150,000 cast.
Interestingly, Ciampoli represented three plaintiffs who got libertarian candidate Eric Sundwall kicked off the special election ballot two weeks ago.
