Kaine: Limbaugh is ‘he-who-must-be-obeyed’ for GOPers
It seems to Democrats that conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh is “he-who-must-be-obeyed” in the Republican Party, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said Tuesday.
“I thought it was kind of courageous for Chairman Steele to call comments like that ugly and incindiery and say that was not the path that the party should be pursuing,” Kaine said during an apperance on Fox News to discuss the kerfluffle between Steele and Limbaugh that persisted over into Tuesday.
“But as he then apologized and kind of took that back yesterday, it left a lot of us wondering, well, who’s really in charge,” Kaine added. “It seems like Rush Limbaugh is really he-who-must-be-obeyed today in the Republican Party.”
Kaine’s comments come amidst a number of Democrats egging on the internecine quibbles between Republicans over the direction of their party.
Steele eventually apologized to Limbaugh late yesterday, but only after being lambasted by a number of conservative bloggers and pundits for having crossed Limbaugh.
