UAW Backs Feigenholtz in IL-5

Yes, we know we are writing a ton about the special election for Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s former House seat. We can even spell Feigenholtz now without looking it up.

But in the latest, development, state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz picked up the endorsement of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Illinois State Community Action Program Monday, one day after Illinois comptroller Dan Hynes also backed her.

“Like most voters, UAW members want a candidate who has risen above political gamesmanship to gets things done and has a strong record and commitment to health care and restoring the economy,” Dennis Williams, Region Four Director for UAW, said in a statement. “The UAW is proud to throw our support behind Sara Feigenholtz because she has a proven and deep commitment to improving the lives of working men and women.”

According to the Feigenholtz campaign, the UAW group has almost 70,000 members in Illinois.
