Gingrich to join National Council for a New America

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), who seems to be everywhere these days, is joining the National Council for a New America, Chris Cillizza reports.

This, coming after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin recently joined the group, seems to be another sign that House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), who has been the driving force behind the council, is rising in the ranks. Just visually, the image the shows on the group’s website when you first load it is getting very crowded (also check out all the members here).

Also, you can’t help but note the imagery of Gingrich passing the torch to Cantor…
