Poll: Some troubling numbers for Reid

There are some troubling numbers for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in a new poll released Tuesday as he heads toward his reelection bid next year.

The Mason Dixon poll, conducted for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, found that 45 percent of respondents said they would oust Reid while 35 percent said they would reelect him.

More, half of respondents view Reid unfavorably. Thirty-eight percent viewed him favorably and 11 percent had a neutral view.

Another alarming number for Reid is the 50 percent of independents that said they would definitely vote against Reid next year. Seventy-one percent of Republicans and 20 percent of Democrats said the same.

More than six in 10 Democrats and three in 10 independents, though, said they would vote to reelect Reid.

And, of course, Republicans currently have no candidate to run against Reid.

Reid’s numbers stand in contrast to President Obama’s in Nevady. Fifty-five percent view Obama favorably and only 30 percent view him unfavorably.
