Dem Carnahan Leads GOPers in Missouri Senate Race
Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan (D) has slim leads over Republican candidates in a Public Policy Polling survey of her possible 2010 Senate race.
Carnahan and a slew of Republicans are looking to succeed retiring Sen. Kit Bond (R). In the poll, Carnahan leads Rep. Roy Blunt (R) 45 percent to 44 percent. She leads former Sen. Jim Talent 47 percent to 43 percent. And Carnahan leads former Missouri Treasurer Sarah Steelman (R) 47 percent to 36 percent.
Carnahan is the daughter of former Sen. Jean Carnahan (D) and former Gov. Mel Carnahan (D). Her brother is Rep. Russ Carnahan (D).
