Obama willing to raise money, campaign for Specter

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs just said that President Obama is willing to raise money and campaign for Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) now that he has switched to the Democratic Party.

“If the president is asked to raise money for Sen. Specter, he’ll be happy to do it,” Gibbs said at the White House press briefing. “If the president is asked to campaign for Sen. Specter, we’ll be happy to do it.”

Gibbs added that includes the Democratic primary.
