VIDEO: Dems: GOP wrecked the economy

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is up with a new web ad blaming Republicans for the current recession and attacking them for continuing the same policies of the last eight years.

“For eight years, Republican senators took a wrecking ball to our economy,” the ad says as a wrecking ball slams into a wall. “But now, with our economy in trouble, Republican senators refuse to change.”

The ad says Republican tax cuts for the wealthy and tax breaks for big oil contributed to the current recession.

“Republicans tore down our economic house, leaving us to clean up the wreckage,” the ad says. “It’s time to fix our economy. Republicans should help, our get out of the way.”

It is worth noting that web ads, like this one, are online only. The DSCC isn’t buying air time for it. These ads are cheap to produce and the goal is to get them picked up on blogs – like this one – and spread virally, hopefully generating free media on the cable networks.
