Palin: My Special Needs Child Is Part of Why I’m Running
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) told NBC’s “Nightly News” for a feature last night that her infant son, Trig, who has Down syndrome, is part of why she’s running for vice president.
“Part of the reason that I’m doing this is for my own child who has special needs,” Palin told NBC when asked about the families of individuals with special-needs disabilities like Down syndrome who turn out for her rallies across the country.
“We have an automatic bond there where we can just look at each other in the eyes and say, “I know, and you know, and we’re all this together,” Palin said.
