Gallup: Congress’ job approval hits 4 year high
Congress’ job approval numbers shot up again this month, hitting a four year high, according to a new Gallup poll.
Thirty-nine percent of respondents in the survey approved of Congress’ job performance, the highest percentage in a Gallup poll since February of 2005, when it hit 45 percent.

As the graph shows, Congress has seen its approval rating shoot up since President Obama took office. In the middle of February, that approval rating jumped to 31 percent.
In particular, respondents in this recent survey that identified as Democrats approve of Congress. A majority of Democratic respondents, 57 percent, now approve of Congress, a 14 point jump in February that followed a 25 point jump in January. The percentage of independents that approve of Congress has also rose slightly, while Republicans’ opinion of Congress remains low.
The Gallup poll, conducted march 5 through March 8, surveyed 1,012 respondents. There was a plus or minus 3 percentage point margin of error in the poll.
