Coleman: Decision ‘Ensures’ Election Challenge

Sen. Norm Coleman’s (R) campaign said a decision by the Minnesota Supreme Court denying a request to block a state board’s decision to include allegedly doubly-counted votes will “ensure” a challenge to the election.

The court unanimously rejected a claim by Coleman that would have been key to his prospects to secure reelection in the contested Senate race against Democrat Al Franken.

The Coleman campaign released the following statement from lead recount attorney Fritz Knaak:

The decision by the Minnesota Supreme Court today virtually guarantees two things in this recount.
