Kennedy Receiving Support From Black Voters in N.Y.

Older and middle-aged black voters in New York are boosting Caroline Kennedy in her bid to succeed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D).

Kennedy gets 65 percent of the support of black voters born between 1943 and 1962 in a Public Policy Polling survey. Almost all of the other voters in that group list Kennedy as their second choice. Much of the support seems due to the popularity her father, President John F. Kennedy, and uncle, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-N.Y.), enjoyed, notes the polling firm.

When all New York Democrats were polled, Caroline Kennedy has the most support of any possible Clinton successor. She received 44 percent while New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo received 25 percent.
