Schweitzer Elected Chairman of Dem Governors
Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, whose speech roused Democratic delegates at the party’s convention, will serve as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association.
The Democratic governors elected Schweitzer to lead them at their meeting in Philadelphia on Tuesday. The group chose Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley to serve as their vice chairman.
Schweitzer said that he would work with the incoming Obama administration to create jobs and strengthen the economy.
