Half Back Reelection for House Dems, Fewer Back GOP Incumbents

Only 36 percent of Americans say Republican members of Congress deserve reelection, while 50 percent say Democrats should be sent back to Washington, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research poll.

Overall, 58 percent of voters said most members of Congress do not deserve reelection. However, when asked about their own, individual representative, 55 percent of voters indicated they would support their congressman. 38 percent of voters said their member did not deserve reelection.

The poll, conducted October 17-19, has a 4.5 percent margin of error.
