‘Barack’ Yet to Crack NYC Baby Names List
Though Barack Obama is poised to win New York’s 31 electoral votes, his first name has yet to make it onto New York City’s list of new baby names.
The list, put out annually by the city’s health department, included more than 700 names given to at least 10 newborn boys in 2007.
Obama has been running for president since January 2007. He is leading John McCain 58 percent to 37 percent in Pollster.com’s trendline of New York state polls.
The most popular name for boys was Daniel. The second most popular name was Jayden, which was the name given to the newborn of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. The most popular names for girls were Sophia and Isabella, which tied for first place.
For the record, John was the 19th most popular among newborn boys and Hillary was the 137th most popular among baby girls.
