Rep. Mahoney’s Wife Files For Divorce

The wife of Rep. Tim Mahoney, the Florida Democrat who reportedly paid off a former mistress, has filed for a divorce, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Terry Mahoney filed the divorce petition Monday. They have been married for 23 years.

Her husband, who is running for a second House term, paid nearly $122,000 to a former employee to keep her from going public with their affair, according to ABC News.

Mahoney has admitted affairs with Allen and with a Marin County government official who was seeking his help for a $3.4 million reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to the Post. Federal investigators are looking into whether Mahoney broke laws by hiring Allen to his staff and by showing preferential treatment to Marin County.
