Poll Shows Obama Ahead in North Dakota

Barack Obama leads John McCain in the red state of North Dakota, 45 percent to 43 percent, according to the latest poll by The Forum newspaper in Fargo.

The survey of more than 600 likely voters, however, has a margin of error of four percentage points, which means that Obama’s lead is statistically insignificant.

McCain is suffering from tepid support among Republicans; just 73 percent of likely GOP voters back him. The previous poll, taken last month, showed McCain ahead 53 percent to 40 percent.
