Obama Camp: McCain Desperately Needs to Win This Debate

Barack Obama’s campaign is trying to raise expectations for John McCain ahead of Friday’s debate.

In a memo sent to reporters, the campaign notes that McCain has long been a expert on foreign policy, the general topic of the debate, and has even run a Web ad declaring a debate victory. The memo concludes that McCain, who has had an “unsteady” week trying to respond to the economic crisis, needs to win the debate.
