Palin Installed Tanning Bed in Governor’s Mansion

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) bought a tanning bed with her own money and put it in the governor’s residence, according to Us Weekly.

A spokesman for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities confirmed that she bought the bed to the magazine. It was first reported by Narco News.

Liberal bloggers are jumping on the report of the bed, saying that it undercuts her blue-collar image. Matthew Yglesias finds it “pretty weird” and says that most Americans don’t have their own tanning beds, which can cost up to $35,000 each.
