Rep. Young Leads in Primary By 145 Votes
Rep. Don Young (Alaska) leads Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell in their Republican primary race for House by 145 votes, according to the latest count.
Just nine of the 438 precincts across the state have yet to report results from Tuesday’s voting. The winner will face Democrat Ethan Berkowitz.
The state would pay for a recount if the winning margin is less than 0.5 percent of the total votes cast. With 93,366 votes cast, Young’s margin is just 0.15 percent.
