Nearly Half of Democratic Women Think Clinton Should Have Been Picked
As Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) prepares to take the stage Tuesday night at the Democratic convention in a show of unity, a new Rasmussen poll shows that nearly half of Democratic women think the best to unify would have been to pick the New York senator as Barack Obama’s running mate.
47 percent say Clinton should have gotten the nod over Deleware Sen. Joe Biden (D). Only 35 percent of Democratic men said the same.
But a nearly equal overall number reflectects one of the reasons Clinton may not have been reportedly vetted.
Heading into her speech, 48 percent of those polled say Clinton is likely to overshadow Obama.
