Quinnipiac Polls Have McCain Leading in Fla., Obama Up in Pa.
The latest batch of polls from Quinnipiac University show tight races in the big three swing states.
John McCain leads Barack Obama in Florida, 47 percent to 43 percent. Obama had led in the July poll by two percentage points.
Obama leads in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, just as he did last month. He’s up 44 percent to 43 percent in Ohio. He leads 49 percent to 42 percent in Pennsylvania.
In his analysis, Quinnipiac pollster Peter Brown noted that McCain is running nine percentage points better than the generic Republican candidate.
“Whether this reflects Obama’s weakness or McCain’s strength, the effect has been to make a close race out of a campaign many initially expected to be an easy Democratic win,” he said.
