Is Saturday the Day?
Barack Obama is returning to the old Illinois state capitol Saturday for a campaign event that is only described as “free and open to the public,” indicating that it may be the event where Obama unveils his running mate. Obama kicked off his presidential campaign at the old state capitol over a year ago.
The event will likely further intensify, if still possible, the veep speculation centered around Saturday.
But while the Obama campaign has been tight-lipped about swirling veep rumors, it did leave a few potential bread crumb in the email announcing the event.
First, the campaign inform the press that credential requests are due Wednesday, well ahead of the event, because it expects “limited” space. Second, the event is kicking off a four-city tour through swing states, on which, it is assumed, the vp will be accompanying Obama.
