Obama Lead in Quinnipiac Poll Shrinks
Barack Obama still leads John McCain in the latest national survey by Quinnipiac University. But his lead is getting smaller.
Obama is ahead of McCain 47 percent to 42 percent in the school’s August poll. The Democrat was ahead 50 percent to 41 percent in Quinnipiac’s July survey.
When respondents were asked which candidate is better qualified to deal with Russia, they picked McCain over Obama by a 48 percent to 31 percent margin. Obama, however, led among voters who said the economy, the Iraq war or healthcare was their top issue.
