New DNC Web Ad Depicts McCain as Puppet of Big Oil

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) released a new Web ad Tuesday depicting John McCain as a marionette operated by big oil companies.

The DNC said that its new ad “shows who’s pulling the strings on John McCain’s energy policy.” Entitled “Puppet Masters,” it first portrays an animated McCain criticizing Barack Obama’s plan to impose a windfall profits tax on oil and gas companies and laying out his own case for a gas tax holiday.

The camera then pans out to show the Republican presidential candidate attached to strings and being controlled by a disembodied pair of hands, labeled “Oil Industry Lobbyists.”

The ad goes on to note that 33 of McCain
