MoveOn and Emily’s List Team Up to Back Congressional Dems

MoveOn.org and Emily’s List have launched a new effort to back female Democrats running for Congress.

In an e-mail written by Elizabeth Edwards and sent to MoveOn.org members, the two liberal groups ask for donations for: state Sen. Kay Hagan (N.C.), who is running against Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R); former New Hampshire Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, who is challenging Sen. John Sununu (R); and Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (N.H.), who is running for a second term.

MoveOn and Emily’s List were on opposite sides of the Democratic presidential primary. MoveOn endorsed Barack Obama while Emily’s List was one of the staunchest backers of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).
