ActBlue Donations Total $50 Million
ActBlue, an online fundraising network for Democrats, announced today it has helped raise $50 million for Democratic candidates since its launch in 2004.
ActBlue allows donors to give money to candidates and coordinate fundraising efforts through its website. See the website here.
“Small dollar donations are the key to Democratic strength, because as we’ve seen with the Obama campaign, sustainability comes from being able to return to your base and ask for help when you need it,” says ActBlue Executive Director Jonathan Zucker said today in a release announcing the $50 million total. “We’re building that capacity for Democrats at every level. You don’t have to be a national campaign to harness the power of small donors.”
ActBlue spokeswoman Marissa Doran told The Hill ActBlue has helped funnel $32.1 million to Democratic candidates since the beginning of 2007.
