Bush: I Ran on Change Too
President Bush says Barack Obama’s call for change is not anything new, pointing out that when he ran for president he did the same.
Telling a Slovenian television network ahead of his trip to Europe that he is not surprised by Democratic attacks against his record, Bush said “that’s what happens,” adding, what “you’ll see is a lot of rhetoric, and I understand that.”
“I mean, they say, ‘we want change.’ Of course — and I tell people every time I ran for politics I said, ‘we want change.'”
“Unless, of course, I was the incumbent, in which case I was not for change, I was for myself,” Bush added.
