Schumer Endorses Obama

A day after his colleague in New York’s Senate delegation, Hillary Clinton, left the presidential race, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) endorsed Barack Obama.

Here’s Schumer’s release:

“Today, I am announcing that I am officially endorsing Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States.

“I know Barack very well and have no doubt that he will make an extraordinary President. Rarely in the history of our country have we seen someone with the vision and talent that Barack has shown to the entire country during his more than 20 years in public service.

“Hillary ran a very strong campaign and I was proud to be one of her first and strongest supporters.

“I look forward to doing whatever I can to help Barack and the campaign this year.
His background, charisma, intelligence, and endurance are unmatched and I have no doubt that he will emerge victorious in November.”
